  5. This application enables pattens and borders to be 
  6. generated from draw files.
  7.  
  8. Drag a simple drawfile to the icon bar icon. A window
  9.  will open displaying the original file on the left
  10.  and the pattern generated on the right.
  11.  
  12. The icons in the lower part of the window control the pattern.
  13. The easiest way to see what they do is to load a very simple
  14. file - such as a leaf pattern - and play with it.
  15.  
  16. Rotation: clicking on one of the nine buttons determines
  17.           the centre of rotation of the drawfile.
  18.           
  19. Arrangement: the input file may be rotated before the pattern 
  20.           is made, and alternate repeats may be reflected in 
  21.           the x and/or y axes.
  22.           
  23. Options: This sections fixes the number of repeats of the input file, 
  24.          the angle of the first repeat and the radius of a blank circle
  25.          in the centre of the pattern.
  26.          Setting this to 0 gives a snowflake effect, while large values 
  27.          allow borders to be made.
  28.          The Eccentricity value changes the circles into ellipses - tall
  29.          if the value is greater than one and wide if if it less than one.
  30.          
  31. A final option box determines whether a bounding circle should be added
  32.         round the outside of the pattern and round the centre blank if 
  33.         the radius is non-zero.
  34.         This band is a single path that lies behind the pattern in the
  35.         resulting drawfile so that it can be filled in !Draw if desired.
  36.         
  37. After changing any of these settings, click on Apply to see the effect.        
  38.         
  39. The original file can be exported to Draw for editing  by CTRL double-
  40. clicking on it.  Saving the file to the filename suggested by Draw will 
  41. load the modified file into DrawRot. 
  42. Because the program runs more slowly while waiting for an exported file to be 
  43. resaved, the icon-bar icon allows you to tell DrawRot that you have abandoned
  44. an edit if that is the case.

  46. Clicking the Save button allows the pattern to be saved to disc or directly 
  47. into Draw.  Elaborate  patterns can be built up by saving a pattern back into 
  48. Drawrot, when it becomes the input for a new pattern.

  50. This menu also allows you to specify that the bounding boxes of the various 
  51. Draw paths should be displayed. This is sometimes helpful in seeing how the 
  52. patterns are formed.

  54. If you use the System font, rename the file Res as ResFont and /then/ ResSys as Res to get a better display
